Reading Homework:
I use Fast Start to Early Reading by Scholastic as nightly homework for the first semester of Kindergarten. Every Monday I will send home a new poem and activities for you and your child to complete together. Return the reading log every Friday but keep the poem at home for rereading later. The Fast Start poems and nursery rhymes promote phonemic awareness and fluency in young readers.
Homework Calendar:
Kindergarten students will receive monthly homework calendars. Each day (Monday-Thursday) will have one assignment for the students to complete. Some assignments are written while others are activities are not. Please help your child complete the work each night and return the folder every Friday so that we can check the week’s work. We will send the notebooks home again the following Monday.
